Dr
Foliaki has been the PIASS Board
Chair since
2006.
Dr
Foliaki is a graduate of the University of Otago and is currently employed by the Counties
Manukau District Health Board as Clinical Director of the Pacific Mental Health Services. He has completed his fellowship in
psychiatry and was the countrys first Tongan psychiatrist.
Dr
Foliaki is married with 4 children. His oldest son Daniel suffers from spinal bifida and
uses a wheelchair for mobility purposes.
Dr
Foliaki, as the Chairman of PIASS Trust, together with
Chief Executive of Vaka Tautua (incorporating PIASS
Trust), Philip Beilby,
is focused on strengthening PIASS to achieve better outcomes for disabled
Pacific people in the greater Auckland region.
